Shreveport, LA – According to the officials, on July 18, around 12:04 a.m., Caddo Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a fatal hit and run on Highway 789 near Elaine Drive, which resulted in the death of James Evans.
Evidence at the scene suggested that a large truck traveling northbound on Highway 789 swerved into the southbound lane, striking the victim before leaving the scene without reporting the accident.
Shortly thereafter, another vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 789 hit the victim, who was lying in the southbound lane. The driver of the second vehicle stopped immediately and called 911.
Later that day, around 12 p.m., Anthony Ebizie turned himself in to the Caddo Criminal Investigation Division in reference to the hit and run.
Ebizie’s statements, given after being advised of his Miranda rights, placed him at the scene and were consistent with evidence collected at the scene.
Ebizie was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for hit and run resulting in serious bodily injury or death.
