Shreveport, LA – According to the LaDOTD officials, the $121.7 million project has made steady progress and remains on track for completion in late 2025, weather permitting.

Work began on September 18, 2023, with lane closures allowing JB James Construction to start removing the old travel lanes between Hamilton Road and Industrial Drive.

Since then, all lanes have been removed, with significant portions replaced by new roadway base and concrete—marking the first major reconstruction of this section since the interstate’s original construction in the late 1960s.

In addition, two interchanges are under construction. The on- and off-ramps at Old Minden Road (LA 72) and Industrial Drive (LA 782-2) were removed for a complete rebuild.

New paving has been completed on the Old Minden Road ramps, with the interchange expected to reopen by mid-October 2024.
