Public hearing scheduled in November for the Caddo Parish Commission on millage rates

Shreveport, LA – According to the officials, the Caddo Parish Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. 

The main purpose of the hearing is to consider the levying of additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval.

Additionally, the commission will discuss the adoption of adjusted millage rates following reassessment and the potential to roll forward to rates not exceeding the prior year’s maximum.

The estimated tax revenues projected to be collected in the upcoming year from the increased millage amount to $27,020,360.87.

This represents an increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase of $1,198,364.04.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and participate in this important discussion regarding local tax rates.
