Shreveport, LA – According to the police officials, officers from various units, including the DARE program, Lake Patrol, Bike Patrol, Mounted Patrol, Community Liaison Officers (CLOs), and Neighborhood Assistance Teams (NATs), participated in the event, offering children a firsthand look into the different facets of community policing.

Throughout the day, officers engaged with the kids, providing insights into each patrol unit’s unique roles and answering questions.

A highlight for many was the chance to ride the SPD ATV, accompanied by Sergeant Jones, which brought an extra level of excitement to the gathering.

The event concluded with a spirited game of cornhole, and officers distributed SPD badges and backpacks filled with treats and supplies.

The day’s activities allowed officers to build positive connections within the community while giving young attendees a deeper understanding of the important work they do.
