Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department is sounding the alarm after the city and Caddo Parish lead the state in fatal roadway accidents for 2025.
With 13 lives already lost, officials warn that if reckless behavior continues, the area is on track to set an all-time high for fatalities.
“We cannot allow this to continue,” said the Shreveport Police Department in an urgent plea to the public. “This needs to stop NOW.”
The department is urging residents to take immediate action by:
– Avoiding distracted driving
– Never drinking and driving
– Refraining from excessive speeding
– Not walking on interstates and highways
The department stressed the importance of individual responsibility, stating, “The lives of your friends, family, and neighbors are at stake. If we don’t make a change, these numbers will keep climbing. We can prevent this. YOU can make a difference.”
In a powerful closing message, the Shreveport Police Department reminded the public: “Drive like your life depends on it — because it does.”
