Two men arrested, charged with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon following disturbance involving firearms at store on Barksdale Highway

Shreveport, LA – Two men were arrested Sunday evening following a disturbance involving firearms at the Walmart on Barksdale Highway in Shreveport, Louisiana.

According to police, the incident began when Jeffrey McDay allegedly struck a Walmart employee with a handgun, causing the weapon to fall from his hands.

The employee reportedly picked up the firearm and fled the immediate area with it, preventing McDay from regaining control of the weapon.

Responding officers arrived quickly at the scene and detained McDay, along with another man, identified as Amarion Turner.

Police said Turner was carrying a firearm in his waistband without a holster at the time of contact.

McDay has been charged with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

Turner faces a charge of illegal carrying of a firearm. Authorities also confirmed that both firearms were recovered and seized at the scene.

The swift response by officers ensured the situation was resolved without further escalation. No serious injuries were reported.
