Louisiana – A Louisiana woman was kiIIed earlier this week after the man she was previously in a relationship with waited for responding deputies to leave before shooting her to death. The 22-year-old victim, KayeIin, was reportedly killed by her former partner 24-year-old B. BeII outside her home in Louisiana.
The incident occurred shortly after the victim had contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that the shooter was attempting to use an old key to enter her residence.
Deputies responded to the victim’s call around 3:20 a.m. and conducted a search of her apartment, but did not find the man. The victim and a friend informed deputies of their intention to leave and stay elsewhere for safety.
As the victim was leaving her apartment, the shooter emerged from a wooded area nearby and ambushed her, shooting her before turning the gun on himself. The woman died at the scene, while the shooter was transported to a hospital in critical condition and is not expected to survive.
Court records indicate that the 24-year-old man had been arrested in April for domestic abuse battery. An affidavit from that arrest details an incident where he became violent after being asked to leave the apartment, leading to a physical altercation.Following this arrest, a protective order was issued, prohibiting him from coming within 100 yards of the victim.
Investigators later discovered that the shooter had stolen his grandparents’ vehicle to travel to the victim’s home, suggesting premeditation in the attack.
