Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Fire Department has deployed additional personnel and equipment to Texas to assist with ongoing flood response efforts, as rising waters continue to displace families and overwhelm communities across the state.

Fire Chief Clarence Reese Jr. announced that three firefighters from Shreveport—Captain Peter Bolton, Fire Engineer Brian White, and EVT Ryan Spanier—have been sent to join Louisiana Task Force 3 (LATF-3). They are partnering with three members from Caddo Fire District #4 to integrate with Louisiana Task Force 4’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team.

The expanded mission includes swift water rescue and search operations in some of the hardest-hit areas of Texas. Specialized rescue equipment and vehicles from Shreveport are part of the deployment, enhancing the task force’s ability to conduct life-saving operations under dangerous conditions.

“Our firefighters continue to demonstrate their commitment to serving beyond the borders of our city,” said Chief Reese. “I am extremely proud of each member for answering the call to assist our neighbors in Texas during this tragic disaster.”

As rescue teams work around the clock, the combined efforts of Louisiana’s task forces are focused on locating and saving those trapped by floodwaters.

“This is what it means to be in public service,” Chief Reese added. “We stand ready to bring help and closure to as many families and communities as possible. We pray for the safety of our firefighters and all emergency responders on the ground.”

The Shreveport Fire Department will continue to provide updates on the deployment as operations progress.
