Shreveport Police Department’s D.A.R.E. unit earns top honors at annual LDOA conference

Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Unit recently demonstrated why it is considered one of the best in the state.

At the 34th Annual Louisiana Drug Officers Association (LDOA) Conference held in New Orleans, the team competed in various events and training sessions, showcasing their skills and dedication to youth drug prevention education.

The unit returned home with multiple accolades, including Top Gun honors, a leadership award, and a bowling championship trophy.

Sergeant Jason Jones led the team throughout the conference, and his leadership was praised for helping maintain the unit’s high standards.

SPD’s D.A.R.E. Unit continues to play a vital role in educating youth about the dangers of drug use, and their recent success at the LDOA conference reinforces their commitment to this important work.

The department commended the team for their hard work and dedication, noting that their achievements reflect positively on the entire police force and the community they serve.
