Governor Landry announces overhaul of Louisiana OMV system on podcast

by Erica Knowles

Louisiana – Governor Jeff Landry announced sweeping changes to the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) during a recent episode of his “Diner Days” podcast, where he was joined by Bryan Adams, Principal Assistant of the Department of Public Safety Services.

After more than five decades of relying on an outdated system, the state is set to modernize its driver’s license and vehicle registration services.

The Office of Technology Services and the OMV have partnered with a new software vendor, CHAMP, to lead the transformation.

Officials said the upgrade is aimed at addressing long-standing issues such as long wait times, slow processing, and vulnerability to fraud.

The new system is expected to significantly improve efficiency and customer experience at OMV offices across Louisiana.
