Shreveport, LA – Last week, some of our community’s children had the special opportunity to meet a Shreveport Police Department hostler and one of the department’s horses, Cupcake.
Mr. Anthony, who takes care of the horses, explained how he grooms, feeds, and exercises them to keep them healthy and ready for duty.
The children were able to pet and interact with Cupcake, bringing out big smiles and excitement. The visit also gave them a glimpse into the important role horses play in police work, from patrolling neighborhoods to participating in community events.
Thanks to Mr. Anthony’s hard work, the horses always look their best, and visits like this help children appreciate the dedication required to care for these animals while also connecting with law enforcement in a positive and memorable way.
