Shreveport, LA – On August 18, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Shreveport police responded to a shooting on the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
Officers found 28-year-old Labriesha Patterson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by Shreveport Fire personnel, Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, Shreveport detectives and the Violent Crimes Unit worked through the night to identify suspects.
Their efforts led to the arrest of three individuals: Deceldrion Gay, born April 4, 2006; Tywann Gipson, born April 3, 2008; and Rodney Thomas Jr., born September 12, 2005. All three have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Patterson’s death.
Chief Smith described the crime as a tragic act of violence that took the life of an innocent woman. He praised the work of investigators and specialized units for quickly identifying and apprehending the suspects, who will now face legal consequences for their actions.
