Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Fire Department welcomed 25 new recruits into the fire service during a ceremony attended by Mayor Tom Arseneaux, Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Jr., and members of the department’s command staff.
City leaders spoke to the recruits about the responsibilities and challenges of the profession, emphasizing that firefighting is more than a career and highlighting its impact on both the community and the individuals who serve.
The department also recognized the support of the recruits’ families, acknowledging their role in helping the new class succeed as they begin training.
The recruits will now begin the process of earning their badges as Shreveport firefighters, preparing to serve and protect the community.
