Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith and members of the Shreveport Police Department joined Mayor Tom Arceneaux and other city employees for the Block by Block initiative in the Stoner Hill neighborhood.

The event brought city leaders and community members together for an evening focused on building stronger connections. Organizers said the initiative was designed to create opportunities for residents to meet face-to-face with city officials, discuss neighborhood concerns, and strengthen relationships across the community.

Residents of Stoner Hill welcomed the outreach, and city staff described the neighborhood as both unique and vibrant. Police officers, city employees, and volunteers spent time speaking with residents, hearing their concerns, and discussing ways to address local issues.

The Police Department emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication with residents and noted that events like this help foster trust and collaboration.

City officials said the initiative highlights the city’s ongoing commitment to working directly with neighborhoods and supporting the voices of community members.

The Block by Block program is part of a broader effort in Shreveport to strengthen ties between city government and the communities it serves, with leaders highlighting Stoner Hill as an example of the benefits of direct engagement.
