Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team carried out a sting operation on August 27 that resulted in several arrests and multiple charges.

According to police, Corey Prest attempted to flee officers during the operation but was quickly apprehended. He was charged with possession, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities also arrested Christopher Wendling, a convicted felon with prior aggravated assault and narcotics convictions. Wendling now faces charges that include drug distribution, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In a separate, unrelated case, police arrested Joshua Lyons after finding him in possession of firearms and drugs.

Lyons is legally prohibited from owning firearms due to previous convictions that include two domestic violence charges—one involving strangulation—along with four thefts, burglary, and narcotics-related offenses.

Police stated that the arrests reflect their ongoing effort to target individuals bringing drugs and weapons into the community.
