Shreveport, LA – The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities to offer a free reading program for families.

The Prime Time Family Reading program is designed to help children build a strong foundation in literacy, creativity, and critical thinking.

The six-week program will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 6, at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.

Prime Time Family Reading features interactive storytelling and discussions led by deputies. Children will explore topics such as fairness, courage, and dreams in a safe and welcoming environment. Families with children ages 6–10 are encouraged to attend.

Participants will also enjoy dinner and door prizes, and each child will receive award-winning books to take home.

For more information or to register, families can contact Deputy Vernita Williams at [email protected] or call (318) 681-0869.
