Man arrested after chasing girlfriend and threatening her with firearms in Blanchard

Shreveport, LA – Patrol deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 58-year-old man after he allegedly chased his girlfriend and threatened her with two handguns on September 20, 2025.

Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 6600 block of Kim Street near Blanchard at approximately 10:30 a.m. The victim reported being pursued by her boyfriend, Lawrence Pickett, who threatened her with the firearms.

Deputies Greg Duval and Christan Dickey conducted a brief investigation and submitted a search warrant to the Caddo District Attorney’s Office. Within minutes, Judge Donald Hathaway Jr. of the First Judicial District Court signed the warrant. Deputies executed the warrant at Pickett’s residence, seizing two handguns and ammunition.

Pickett was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of domestic abuse aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse. Officials noted that the prompt coordination with the District Attorney’s Office aided in the swift resolution of the case.

The Sheriff’s Patrol Division reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing violent offenders and removing illegal firearms from the community.
