Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced a $4.7 million project to repair a section of LA 530 near the Town of Oil City in north Caddo Parish.
Work is scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.
The project includes full-depth patching to repair the roadway base, milling to remove old asphalt, and new asphalt paving along 5.3 miles of LA 530, from LA 538 in Oil City to I-49.
Additional work will replace cross drain pipes beneath the roadway to ensure proper drainage.
Officials said LA 530 will need to be closed during certain portions of the work, with further details to be announced. Alternating lane closures will also be in place to allow construction to progress safely.
The project is expected to be completed by late spring 2026, though timelines may be affected by weather and other factors.
Motorists are urged to drive carefully through the work zone and avoid distractions or impaired driving.
