Police seek information in fatal shooting of 17-year-old who was found wounded outside Bond Street home

Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine on Aug. 31, 2025.

Just after midnight, officers responded to a report of a shooting at 3384 Bond Street, where they found Ballentine suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health, where medical staff attempted to save his life, but he did not survive.

Detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene. Witnesses told police that an unidentified individual approached from behind the residence and opened fire before fleeing on foot.
