Armed suspect taken into custody following roadside threat in Shreveport

Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police arrested a man early on November 6, 2025, following an aggravated assault report near Ockley Street and Southern Avenue.

Just after 4:00 a.m., officers responded after a victim reported being chased while traveling northbound on an electric scooter. The victim said a man driving a white Ford truck pointed a handgun at him before he fled and called 911.

Officers located a white truck matching the description near Ockley and Southern and detained the driver, identified as Peyton Stroope, born February 10, 1998. Stroope admitted to having a firearm in the vehicle, which was recovered by police.

The victim positively identified Stroope and his vehicle as the suspect involved. Stroope was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
