
Shreveport, LA – Caddo Parish deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Louisiana Highway 170 on November 7 that left one person dead and another seriously injured.
According to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr., the crash occurred at approximately 9:13 p.m. when a dark-colored SUV entered the interstate traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a white pickup truck.
Caddo Fire District 7 pronounced the driver of the SUV deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted by LifeAir to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies remained on scene investigating the crash, and southbound traffic was diverted off I-49 onto Louisiana Highway 170 and back onto the interstate while the investigation continued.
