Shreveport, LA – Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred on the evening of November 23 near the intersection of Preston Road and Keithville-Keatchie Road.
According to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr., the incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. when a Union Pacific train engineer and conductor spotted a person on the tracks.
Despite activating the train’s emergency systems, the crew was unable to stop in time, resulting in a fatal collision.
Responding personnel from the Caddo Fire District pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
