Multiple arrests made as guns and drugs removed from Shreveport streets

Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department arrested several individuals in separate incidents this week, removing illegal firearms and narcotics from neighborhoods across the city.

Officers from the Street Level Interdiction Unit executed a search warrant in the Jewella Avenue area, resulting in the arrest of three people. Detreylon Lewis was charged with illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance and distribution of narcotics.

Untario Jones was charged with three counts of narcotics possession and resisting an officer. Shavell Randell faced two counts of narcotics possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On December 18, police responded to a domestic violence call on the 4300 block of Haywood Place. Officers took Terrence McHenry into custody and discovered he was in possession of a firearm.

Further investigation revealed McHenry is a multiple-time convicted felon. He was charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

The department said it will continue enforcement efforts to keep the community safe and hold offenders accountable.
