Armed individuals arrested during late-night traffic stop in Shreveport

Shreveport, LA – Two men were arrested just before midnight on January 2 after Shreveport police conducted a traffic stop at David Raines Road and Pouncey Lane, authorities said.

Police identified the suspects as Jaylan Young and Marvin Young. Officers said both men were found in possession of narcotics and firearms during the stop.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, Jaylan Young is a convicted felon stemming from a 2020 firearms case. As a result, he now faces charges related to narcotics distribution and illegal possession of a weapon.

Marvin Young was also found to be carrying narcotics and a firearm, police said. Investigators determined the firearm in his possession had been reported stolen. He now faces charges including possession of a stolen firearm, narcotics distribution, and illegal carrying of a weapon.

No injuries were reported. Police said both men were taken into custody without incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
