Shreveport police arrest man for burglary after homeowner reports suspicious activity

Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police Department officers arrested John Paul Voight early Tuesday morning following a report of suspicious activity on Cotton Street.

Just after midnight on February 3, a homeowner observed the suspect moving around their property on surveillance cameras and called police. When officers arrived, they saw Voight attempting to hide on the property.

Shreveport Police K-9 units were deployed, and Voight was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with one count of simple burglary.

Authorities emphasized that residents should report suspicious activity as it happens to allow police to respond quickly.
