Shreveport, LA – Officers with the Shreveport Police Department’s Community-Oriented Policing Bureau spent the weekend engaging with residents while supporting autism awareness initiatives.
The officers participated in Princess Park’s “Superhero Block Party – Light It Up Blue” event, where they interacted with families, played games such as cornhole, and handed out prizes while building connections within the community.
They also attended the Autism Awareness Superhero Fun Run at Betty Virginia Park, continuing their outreach efforts and providing resources to those in attendance.
During both events, officers shared information about the department’s Friends of the Community Program, which is aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and residents.
Officials said the events highlighted the department’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and support for causes that bring residents together.
