Shreveport, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the Bayou Grosse Tete drawbridge along LA 77 in Iberville Parish is now fully operational.
The bridge, which had been shut down or operating under curfew since a vessel collision on June 6, has been cleared for all marine and vehicular traffic with no further restrictions.
After several months of repairs, contractor Coastal Contractors, LLC, conducted final equipment tests this morning, lifting all operational limits.
DOTD thanked the public for their patience during the repair process, which involved fabricating and installing new bridge parts.
