Shreveport, LA – Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control will participate in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Summer National Empty the Shelters” event on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The adoption event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Caddo Animal Services facility, located at 1500 Monty Street in Shreveport.

As part of the event, adoption fees will be reduced from the usual $50 to $25 for that day only. Each adoption will include spay or neuter services, microchipping, and vaccinations. The event is part of a national campaign by the BISSELL Pet Foundation to make pet adoption more accessible and to help shelters place animals into loving homes.

Empty the Shelters is the nation’s largest funded adoption initiative, and has helped over 253,000 pets find homes since its inception. During these events, BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees to encourage more families to adopt.

“We are excited to partner with BISSELL and are thankful for their generosity, which allows us to create positive outcomes for the animals in our facility,” said Travis Clark, director of Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control. “We hope many of our citizens take advantage of this special day and consider adding a furry friend to their families.”

More information about the event and adoptable pets can be found by contacting Caddo Parish Animal Services directly.
