Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Monday, February 17, 2025, DOTD Maintenance forces will begin patching the southbound lane of I-49 in Natchitoches Parish. The work will take place at Mile Marker 126, 1.9 miles south of Exit 127.
This repair aims to patch the right lane where a base failure has caused deterioration of the existing concrete pavement. The work will involve saw cutting the existing pavement, removing the existing pavement and base, patching the concrete pavement, applying permanent pavement striping, and performing other related tasks. The repair is expected to take approximately 2 calendar days to complete.
Through traffic will be maintained at all times, with oversize and emergency vehicles allowed passage. No detour routes will be associated with this project; however, the right travel lane will be closed for the duration of the repair.
DOTD appreciates the public’s patience and reminds drivers to proceed with caution through the construction site, being alert for work crews and their equipment.
