Shreveport, LA- According to the police officials, on July 21, Shreveport police officers observed a Honda Accord traveling on Line Avenue with a canceled license plate.
As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated and fled. During the pursuit, the vehicle left the roadway and wrecked before finally coming to a stop at Kingston Road and Elmview Place.
The driver, later captured with the assistance of Shreveport Police K9 Edy, was identified as 29-year-old Alton Washington.
Washington faced numerous charges, including aggravated flight from a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting an officer, and multiple traffic offenses.
Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred during the incident. Washington was treated for minor injuries sustained during his apprehension.
This successful operation highlights the effective partnership between the Shreveport Police Department and their K9 units, showcasing Edy’s valuable contribution to law enforcement efforts in the community.
