Shreveport, LA – According to the state officials, Gov. Landry announced the appointment of Misti Cordell as Chairwoman of the Louisiana Board of Regents. Cordell was first appointed to the board in January as an at-large member.

Currently serving as a Physician Recruiter for Affinity Health Group in Monroe, Cordell brings a wealth of experience in rural health.

Her healthcare career began as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for AstraZeneca, covering the territory from South Arkansas to South Louisiana.

Cordell’s background in both healthcare and government has enabled her to connect healthcare organizations and administrators with state policymakers. This has played a vital role in fostering a mutual understanding between local healthcare structures and the policymaking process, benefiting the broader community.

She also serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors for MedCamps of Louisiana, CenturyNext Bank Advisory Board, the Board of Directors for Ouachita Parish Library, and the Advisory Board for the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum.
