Shreveport, LA – According to the state officials, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the drawbridge along LA 77 between Grosse Tete and Plaquemine in Iberville Parish is closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.
The closure is due to damage sustained from a vessel on the Port Allen Lock at approximately 5:30 AM this morning.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to bypass the closure.
The DOTD will provide updates as soon as the bridge is deemed safe for travel again.
