Alexandria, LA – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has reopened Muddy Bayou Road at North Fork on Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area after completing repairs.
The road had been closed due to damage.
Dewey W. Wills WMA, located in the southern portion of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes, sits approximately 20 miles northeast of Alexandria.
The area offers hunting opportunities for deer, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, waterfowl, and woodcock, with a designated small game emphasis area.
In addition to hunting, the WMA provides excellent recreational fishing, with common species including largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, and other sunfish.
