Monroe, LA – According to the Monroe Police Department, this incident occurred on Saturday.
It happened in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
Monroe Police Department officers responded to a report of a theft.
The responding officers made contact with the 48-year-old suspect.
He name is Chatta Brescher and she reportedly admitted to taking a purse off the cleaning cart at the hotel.
The woman told investigators that she then gave the purse to Maurice Edwards.
She also said that the 60-year-old man gave her the tools to break into the washing machines at the hotel.
The 60-year-old suspect admitted to taking the purse and placing it under the hood of the vehicle.
Investigators found marijuana blunt in Brescher’s front left pocket and methamphetamine under her left foot and under her clothing.
The 60-year-old man was charged with Criminal Conspiracy; Criminal Damage to Coin-Operated Devices and Theft.
The 48-year-old woman was charged with Criminal Conspiracy; Criminal Damage to Coin-Operated Devices; Certain Activities Regarding Contraband in Penal Institutions; Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Obstruction of Justice and Theft.
