Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested four individuals, including a juvenile, following a pursuit that ended in a crash on the 6500 block of Kennedy Street over Easter weekend.
According to officials, officers were conducting patrol operations in the area when they spotted a Dodge Durango reported stolen out of Longview, Texas just the day before. The driver attempted to flee, initiating a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed into a tree and a fence at Fire Station 8.
The suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Shreveport Police K-9 Edy was deployed and located the driver, later identified as Darr’tavious Lewis.
The three other individuals involved—Darryl Thomas, Keeley Duncan, and a 15-year-old—were also apprehended by police officers in the vicinity.
Lewis now faces multiple charges, including aggravated flight from an officer and possession of a stolen vehicle. Additional charges for the other suspects are pending as the investigation continues.
Authorities say the recovery of the vehicle and swift apprehension of the suspects were the result of coordinated efforts between patrol units and the department’s K-9 team.
The case remains under investigation, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
