Shreveport, LA – According to the officials, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Clyde Place Vivian Rd. Bridge was officially closed as part of a significant infrastructure project by the Public Works Department.
The closure marked the beginning of a comprehensive effort to replace the aging bridge, alongside associated road improvements aimed at enhancing safety and accessibility for motorists.
The project was designed to ensure the bridge’s durability for decades to come, addressing concerns about its structural integrity and capacity to handle traffic. The planned improvements were expected to provide a safer and more reliable route for the community.
The Public Works Department anticipated that the full replacement would take approximately 90 days to complete. During this period, motorists were advised to follow a designated detour route, which included Crawford Rd, HWY 538, and Belcher Oil City Rd, to minimize disruption.
This project underscored the department’s commitment to maintaining and improving vital transportation infrastructure, ensuring that the Clyde Place Vivian Rd. Bridge would continue to serve the community safely for many years.
