Shreveport, LA – Beginning on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, LA 3227 at the intersection of LA 157 will be temporarily closed to traffic.
This closure, anticipated to last approximately four weeks, is part of an ongoing project to realign the intersection of LA 3227 and LA 157.
During this period, the contractor will conduct concrete panel repairs, enhance drainage under LA 3227, and install curb and gutter as part of drainage enhancements.
Importantly, this work has been scheduled during a period when schools are not in session to minimize disruptions.
It’s essential to note that while LA 3227 will be closed, the intersection itself will remain accessible for motorists.
This closure is a vital component of the broader project, the first of two phases, aimed at widening the bustling LA 157 corridor from two to five lanes near the Pilot truck stop.
The additional lanes will be constructed on the east side of LA 157.
Completion of the entire project is expected in late Spring 2024, contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
