Louisiana – A train derailment in Avoyelles Parish has forced the closure of a portion of LA Highway 1 in Moreauville, prompting Louisiana State Police and local authorities to issue a traffic advisory and implement detours.
According to a statement from the Louisiana State Police, troopers and deputies from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the derailment early Monday.
The incident, which occurred along LA Hwy 1, has led to the complete shutdown of the roadway to vehicular traffic in the affected area.
