Louisiana – The Louisiana State Police announced that 32 new Child Passenger Safety Technicians were certified this week following training at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy.
According to the agency, the newly certified technicians completed coursework focused on the proper installation of child safety seats and methods to improve passenger safety for children on Louisiana roadways.
The certification is intended to help reduce injuries and fatalities involving child passengers.
During the course, Colonel Lamar Davis, Jr. emphasized the importance of child passenger safety and the role technicians play in supporting families across the state by ensuring car seats are installed and used correctly.
Louisiana State Police officials noted that every State Police troop location serves as a Child Safety Seat Fit Station, where parents and caregivers can receive assistance with child safety seat inspections and guidance.
Additional information on Louisiana child passenger safety laws, seat inspection locations, and certification opportunities is available through the Louisiana State Police community safety programs.
