Shreveport, LA – In response to a recent attack on citizens in New Orleans, units from the Louisiana Army National Guard were placed on state orders to help ensure the safety of those attending the Super Bowl.
Among those deployed were two Shreveport Police Department officers who also serve in the military.
Officer and Army Sgt. Deondre Summage, along with Officer and Army Specialist Gabriel Smith, were part of the security efforts.
Both officers serve with Bravo Troop, 2-108 Cavalry Squadron, and are graduates of SPD Academy Class 2024.
The Shreveport Police Department expressed its support for officers who continue to serve in both law enforcement and the military, highlighting the dedication of those who protect communities at home and abroad.
Summage and Smith’s efforts were recognized as part of the broader mission to enhance public safety during the high-profile event.
