Shreveport, LA – Valued at $1.9 million, this initiative spans from the DeSoto Parish line to LA 1, just north of the Village of Grand Bayou. The project entails crucial asphalt patching repairs and a mill and overlay operation to furnish a fresh driving surface.

In order to facilitate the replacement of a cross drain pipe situated beneath the roadway, LA 509 at this specified location will necessitate closure to through traffic commencing on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Detour signage will be prominently displayed to guide motorists.

Anticipated to endure approximately 30 days, contingent upon weather conditions, this road closure is a necessary measure to ensure the seamless execution of the project.

Subsequent to the completion of the pipe replacement, the contractor will embark on the mill and overlay phase.

Completion of the entire project is slated for early Fall 2024, with progress subject to weather variables and other factors affecting construction schedules.

The DOTD remains committed to delivering vital infrastructure improvements while prioritizing safety and efficiency.
