Baton Rouge, LA – According to the police officials, the shooting occurred right after 11 p.m. Friday.
It happened on Elgin Street.
Baton Rouge Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.
When the officers arrived on scene, they found a 51-year-old female victim.
Her name is Shalama Dabney and she was allegedly killed by her husband.
The 52-year-old suspect also fired shots at the responding officers.
His name is Cedrick Dabney and he was arrested.
Dabney was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and illegal use of a weapon.
This incident remains under investigation.
